Trick or Treat Along West Girard Avenue

This Halloween join members of the West Girard Business Association to Trick or Treat along West Girard Avenue. Over 20 local businesses will be participating, plus there will be free activities for the kids (in addition to candy, of course).  Trick or Treating will take place on Monday,  October 31st from 4-6PM.

Sen. Kitchen’s Energy Workshop Comes to Brewerytown!

As part of the monthly Brewerytown Community meeting, State Senator Shirley Kitchen presents an EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS & ENERGY CONSERVATION WORKSHOP on Thursday, October 13th @ 6:00pm at Greater Brewerytown CDC, 30th & Master Streets. Come learn how to create an emergency plan of action and gain understanding of the best and most Cost-effective ways to reduce your energy usage.  This is a FREE event, regardless of income and free weatherization materials will be offered.

Community Meeting – New Principal of Vaux H.S. Richard Gordon

Guest speaker,  Richard Gordon, new Prinicipal of Vaux Promis Academy, will address the community and provide updates from the school. Plus, PECO will be here explaining all about their CAP program which may reduce the cost of your electric bill. Also speaking will be Marathon Farm’s Adam Hill giving us an update on the community farm.

Brewerytown CDC will, as always, have refreshments, announcements and a question and answer session about concerns of the community. Be apart of it!

Community Meeting – Guest Speaker: Calais Michelle

Calais Michelle founder of 215 Arts Incubator, will speak about this amazing artists’ haven. This is a place where artists can work as well as showcase their work. With concentrations on Visual Arts, Music and Industrial Design, 215 Arts Incubator has living space and studio space. Ms. Michelle also plans to open a theater/restaurant called the Black Box in the Spring of next year. Come see what Ms. Michelle has to say about this soon-to-be Brewerytown favorite place.
